I loved hearing about places I knew and experiences I could relate to. The words and messages in your songs, even with reference to local places (while they add special meaning to someone like me), evoke feelings and recollections of experiences that are universal. Keep it up. --Becky Greenlee, Madison WI "Beautiful! Love the songs, storytelling, and, of course--the drums! (Lovely guitar, too!) --Anya of "Tribal Spirits of the Sun " "I spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening recently listening to a two man band called Plan B playing at a coffee house. Carl Unbehaun sings and plays guitar while Don Karsky sets the rhythm on conga drums. If that sounds like it would be a sparse sound to you, it's not. It's full enough to be entertaining and quiet enough for you to hear the songs. That's good because the songs are what Plan B is all about. All of their material is original, composed by Carl, and you're going to want to listen closely or you'll miss a lot of wry insight into the human condition and the culture we live in. You'll also miss a lot of good laughs. Carl's songs are about love, relationships, smoking, attitudes, singing in monotone and other important, trivial, and funny things in our lives. They are gently but artfully crafted and delivered. Carl is a versatile guitarist with a voice that never over powers the songs. Don is a terrific conga player who's as much fun to watch as to listen to. Anyway, if you're around some place where these guys are playing I'd recommend that you stop by, sample whatever the place is serving and catch a few songs from Plan B." --Bill Rheinwald of "Sunrise River Boys." |
